The YLSI is designed to empower youth with the tools to create social change in the immigrant and refugee community.

YLSI Participants will:

  • Expand their skills on policy advocacy, community organizing, campaign development, leadership development, social justice and more.

  • Learn more about immigrant and refugee rights and  meet with local community leaders, advocates, and organizers who are leading social change.

  • Receive a stipend at the end of the program!

  • Receive a free shirt & free field trips.

In order to apply, you must: 

  • Must be a high school or college student age 14-22 years old

  • Must be passionate about immigrant and refugee rights

  • Must have interest in learning about community organizing

  • Must be able to commit to all institute dates, field trips and graduation

* YLS Institute is not open to past participants.

The program is free of charge & participants will receive a stipend at their completion of the program.
